Slovenia in Autumn Itinerary

Day 1:

Our meeting point and start of our workshop will be in the amazing and best Slovenian landscape place - Lake Bled. We will meet in the accommodation place in the afternoon and have a short briefing about the workshop. After that, we will try the famous Bled cream cake and early dinner and depart to one of the spots on the lake shore to capture the blue hour of the iconic lake and it's island. Overnight in Bled.










Day 2:

Our day will start early in the morning with the sunrise session on the shore of Lake Bled. Lake Bled sunrises are one of the best landscape photography opportunities in the world. The island with it's 17th century church and the medieval castle on the exposed rock above the lake are one of the world famous sites and attracts photographers from all over the globe. We will take advantage of the morning to visit the charming and wild Vintgar gorge and deal with some long exposure shots of the raw power of Radovna river. After shooting, we will return to our accomodation for breakfast and some time to relax. Afternoon is a nice time to spend in the Bohinj Valley, visiting the biggest lake in Slovenia and see it from different angles. The sunset session will be at the St. John church and the bridge at the end of the lake.  Overnight in Bled.










Day 3:

The morning will find us on the second most famous spot in the region - Jamnik and St. Primus church. Steve McCurry, known about the famous portrait of the "Afghan girl" was here in early 90's, when he was on assignment for National Geographic for the Yugoslavia story and captured controversial photograph of the church with the rising full moon behind the mountain, which was doubted by many photographers for being manipulated or not. Anyway, the church stands on the top of the hill with the beautiful background of Mt. Storžič. After the sunrise session, we will return to our accommodation, have breakfast and leave for Triglav National Park. On our way, we will pass the highest mountain pass in Slovenia with 1611m on the top and windy road will bring us to Trenta valley, with the enchanting turquoise river of Soča. Surrounded by the high mountains of the Julian Alps, the river and it's special color is a grateful photographic motive. Through the mountains, and a short drive through Italy, we will drive to the city of Kranj, where we will stay overnight.











Day 4:

Early morning departure to the famous spot with the view over St. Thomas Church, where we will start our day. From autumn to spring, this place is famous as when the sun rises, it lits the top of the hill with the church and separate it from the background, which are formed from the majestic peaks of Kamnik and Savinja Alps. After short rest, we will proceed to Velika Planina where we will spend the afternoon photographing traditional pasture village. In the evening we will return to Ljubljana.
